Evaluation of our Final Piece
So over all I think the process we followed during the creation of this piece worked quite well, there are a few things I think I would do differently but I'm really happy with how we worked as a group and how everyone choreographed there sections to match the theme, and the final product was really effective and you could see the effort everyone had put in.
I think we did get the stimulus and message of DID (dissociative identity disorder) through during the dance and definitely the message that it doesn't go away and it's still there we just hide our problems from the outside world. However I think if Covid-19 wasn't a problem at this time we could've had a lot more contact work, and times where we were closer together which would've been extremely effective for the information we were trying to articulate as we could've projected the feeling of fighting against yourself a little bit more.
I think I am starting to develop a little bit of a choreographic style which is mostly just thinking about a word or shape ect and trying to create that using your body so you can really picture it in your mind. In this piece when I was choreographing, I don't think I used that technique enough so, next time if I do, perhaps my choreography will be more interesting and creative. I also think I would enjoy to research about my theme and stimulus more so I could incorporate that into the choreography.
I think during this process we really should've took into consideration of our time management a little more as when it got to learning the final pieces of choreography we struggled to fit it all in and had to rush through it to make sure we learnt it all and still had a few lessons to clean it. I think to change this if we had maybe learnt the counts of the music that our choreography went to we could've saved a lot of time, because then we could teach it more efficiently and everyone could've got the timing correct from the beginning and we would've had a lot more time to clean it and practice it. However something I believe we did really well was portraying what we had learnt about DID through the dance and I think we really did show what we wanted to get across, "a day in the life of someone with DID".
